Not sure if anyone has actually run the game yet, but I’m curious; how has the explicit gender restrictions of the player characters been received by players? My group is almost entirely trans women and nb femme folks, so of course we all loved it, but I was curious if anyone had trouble selling men on the game.

I ran a whole campaign for 2 cis men and they were totally cool with it. I also run it a lot at cons where I get 70-80%ish men playing and I’ve gotten nothing but great investment from all of them.

I was in the long con at Dreamation. 8 players, majority male presenting. Not an issue at all. In fact, one man signed up not knowing the storyline/constraints and played an awesome spider through all three sessions. Granted, it was a con, so except for him, everyone else knew what they were signing up for (self-filtering).
That said, the Gauntlet G+ comminity is running its 3 or 4th short campaign over the next 2 months, and there does not seem to be a problem filling it, and the players are predominantly CIS men if I’m not mistaken.
I ran it at meetup without any prior warning for 5 men and there was no issues regarding gender choice.
Maybe I need to actually run the game for some trans women and nb folks, then! Balance the scales a little bit, show we can have fun too.
The only comment on the concept in my group of cis men and women was “that’s pretty awesome”.
I dont game ftf anymore I mainly game through the Gauntlet. The reception there as only been highly positive. I don’t think its an issue at all. It gives us a medium to validate exploring different things without feeling awkward since its ingrained in the source material.
