New to Masks but love it…

I was recently thinking…music…it’s not a someone but it is a something that could hold influence over characters, enough that, in the right circumstances, to tell them who they are or who they should be.

This could happen when the music presents itself in the right situation, such as if the characters go to a concert or if they end up listening to a particular piece when they’re feeling particularly vulnerable.

I don’t think this would trigger during everyday listening, such as hearing something on the radio or plugging into an iPod.

* Classical: Could shift Superior up and Freak down

* Metal: Could shift Danger up and Mundane down

And so on…

Or, one could focus on the particular song.

Just a thought, take from it what you will.

  1. Or add a Hero Like Dazzler whos respected in community, to influence them without being there through Music/Shows…..It could more be the message within the music than the genre itself. But maybe expand this beyond that, Media in general not just the Newspaper reports of their actions but those of other heroes etc.

  2. Music is hugely important to teenagers. It tells them how the world works, so could totally trigger the influence move. Of course music itself is not an adult so the character would have to decide if it influences them.

  3. Of course it’s the player that decides, now that I think about it. “This stuff sucks!” yells the delinquent. “Metal forever!” (runs home and cries because Purcell’s sonatas are so beautiful and perfect)
