What kinds of alternate settings have people done, and what seating charts have you used? Monsterhearts is one of my absolute favourite games but I’ve run so many one-offs that I’ve been reaching around for new scenarios. Some of the non-school seating charts we’ve tried so far include:

– metal night at the local dive bar

– who’s sitting in what cars in the convoy on its way to a techno festival

– the ferry boat taking young backpackers to a wild party island in Cambodia

– the diner in a Deep South mining town

– the Greek god Dionysis’ hedonistic party garden

I’m not dissing Monsterhearts high school focus – it’s still one of my faves – but I’m curious to hear what other things people have done.

  1. I ran a short campaign where it was study abroad at sea. Whenever they made port things escalated to insanity. As for seating I had deck plans from one of those sailing ship cruise ships so seating was the berth spaces.
