About the move “Forge a path”, i’m not sure that the possible results for a 10+ are good because a 10+ is a sucess but all the 4 propositions have negative effects, that’s not in the Apocalypse world mood, according to me.

  1. OK I know it but in fact it means that forging a path is not a move that you are encouraging to make because the best issue is taht “it will take longer than you think” so that’s not really a full sucess.

  2. Moves are not encouraged at all. Moves happen. No one gets to say they are not triggered.

This move is saying that forging a path in the wasteland is always costly.

That said, it’s very clearly listed as an optional move in the text.

  3. OK but an existing move is a move ^_^

But ok, personaly, I dislike a move which is always costly, but it’s a choice of game design.

But page 11 when it is said “10+ is a FULL sucess – you succeed with grace and style, and maybe learn something about the world”, I don’t find it in the “Forge a path” move.

  4. What do you mean? If You mean if the MC ask you if you REALLY want to do this you can answer “OK no thanks”, of course you can. But it’s not really interesting for the story, for the fiction

  5. Not every move is going to have the same structure or the same interpretation for a given result. I think Forge a Path is supposed to highlight how dangerous traversing around the land is, and therefore you’ll always run into complications. If you don’t like the feel it gives to the game I guess you could use a custom move of your own design instead. But personally I think it’s setting-appropriate.
