What pbta game would you recommend for playing adult heroes? I want to take my Masks players through a few sessions as an adult hero team in the same setting as their teens to give them time to see the other side, to broaden the background of Halcyon City, and to set up some things for future teen plots. So I need something that keeps the feel of Masks as much as possible.

The only other PbtA supers game that I know of is Worlds in Peril. I remember seeing a thread somewhere on the internets that compares them… (google powers activate!)… this might help.

Maybe stay with Masks, but let them unlock Adult Moves from the start and house rule Influence into some kind of Public Opinion or something with a custom move? Or a move that incentivizes (with XP??) getting up in kids’ faces and telling them why they’re wrong and lazy and bad and killing the Daily Bugle and ruining chain restaurants and wrecking the housing market…
Just spitballing, don’t have my Masks stuff with me. Could you make the City or different groups (bigger supers, community group, etc) the equivalent of “Adults”?
If you’re only going to do it for a few sessions, don’t use a system, just play it out.
Has anyone tried City of Mists? The default setting seems darker, but I imagine the aspects as “tags” that add to a die roll would work for any setting.
The moves would need an overhaul, I imagine, as the moves are very much invested in that noir/mythic setting.
Worlds In Peril is a great PbtA superhero game for adult heroes, though it is a different feel from Masks. Both are about discovering who you are, though Masks involves a lot more of other people trying to tell you that.
I think City of Mist would work great out of the box. I disagree with Alfred, the moves feel universal.
People have already done Firefly and other genes with it.
Morgan Robertson Any links to Firefly and other “hacks”?
There arent really any “hacks”, they system is just used almost directly as is, its that flexible. The best youll find are just example characters.
Heres a good one, Agent Coulson from Shield. Not made by me, but a FB User David White.
