  1. The Move “Gather Evidence” tells “If the Story Clock reaches 0000 before the Noise Clock […]it should have a major impact on the implicated parties and will affect at least one Corporate Clock.” So means “impact” automatically “advance”?

  2. It depends on the story, but the result of the Story Clock reaching 0000 first should be a desired result for the Reporter, usually by lowering at least one Clock.

The “major impact” refers to the fiction. Think about what the story is. Is this a story about radioactive waste dumping in a populated area that few people care about? Some corporate heads might roll and there might be an intensive PR campaign to cover it up. Maybe the a single corp clock lowers by two. Is this a major insider trading and collusion scandal that sees two CEOs ousted by their boards and their nefarious plans put on ice? That might mean that both Corporate Clock lower completely to 1200 and all the other corporations lower by 1-2 as they focus on internal investigations.

In all these cases, aggrieved parties might become Threats.

The Reporter’s story is the accumulation of an important ongoing arc. The outcome should be in line with difficulty and importance of the story to the character. If you think that a story might result in a raised clock, you should warn the character with MC moves and you should make sure that the fictional outcome is worthwhile (perhaps because it aligns with a Personal Directive like compassionate or vengeful).

  3. Thanks Hamish. That clearified a lot! Awesome! So actually there are persons who are running the Corp and if you can remove them in a way, then the CorpClock goes down.
