Are you a fan of Persona 3-5?
Here’s a little thing I’ve been working on over the past few months. It’s my first attempt at making/hacking a TTRPG, so on top of not being done, I’m sure it’s also somewhere between horribly bad and halfway decent. That said, it’s at the point now where I’d need some play experience to tell what works, what doesn’t, and what exactly needs to be added, and unfortunately I’m not at a point right now where I can get it to a table personally.
With all that being what it is, I’m sharing it here. Feel free to take a look at it or not, as you’d like. You can leave advice or feedback if you want, but I’m not likely to add or change much until I can tell in a non-hypothetical way how the game would work (or not work) in its current iteration.

The Persona games definitely have a Masks-esque mythology. Great idea!

This looks great. I’ll have to try and get my group playing this some time.
It looks really cool, but on the stars advancements, one says to change your abilities. What does that mean?
Matthew Force
It refers to the abilities every PC has, though they aren’t listed on the playbooks.
I had imagined it as a unique advance for the Star that allows them to change how their abilities manifest while everyone else’s stay the same, similar to the advance for the Transformed in Masks.
It’s meant to evoke that trope in some fiction where an emotionally significant experience can awaken new powers or abilities that were dormant.
For instance, if you played a Star whose ability was to scan environments for threats or weaknesses, you could take that advance and add that your abilities now include some elements of telekinesis.
Did the new abilities emerge alongside your blossoming hope? Or, like the darkness inside you, were they always there but you covered them up because you were afraid of that side of yourself?
This is what I’m aiming at.
Admittedly, it was an advance that came out of my inability to come up with something better, so it may change in the future if needed.
Hopefully I answered your question somewhere in there.
