I recently picked up Masks in the current Bundle of Holding, and there are suggestions to look out for a couple supplements that were supposedly forthcoming. However, I can’t seem to find them anywhere. Have any sourcebooks or supplements been released yet?

  1. There are actually three supplement books on the way, not two. That’s not counting the Villain and Influence decks, which shipped to backers a while back and are available for general purchase now.

The last closest thing we’ve gotten to an ETA on any of them was that The Halcyon City Herald Collection would hopefully be released by Gen Con, which seems to have not happened. Backers got a near final copy of that book back in July, so it shouldn’t be too much longer before the book ships. This book contains five new playbooks (Joined, Star, Reformed, Innocent and Newborn) and a bunch of newslets that you can use to inspire your game, or just drop straight into it.

Secrets of A.E.G.I.S. will contain three more playbooks (Soldier, Brain and Harbinger), as well as an A.E.G.I.S. themed playset, a bunch of mission reports on supers related incidents, and a Most Wanted section detailing some of Halcyon’s most infamous villains. We don’t have any release ETA, but the playtest playbooks should be coming to backers soon.

Lastly, Masks: Unbound will contain all the other playsets that were unlocked during the Kickstarter. We haven’t heard a whisper about that one’s progress in a while, so I assume it’s next in line after SoA. I’d suggest looking at the Kickstarter page for info on the playsets; im not sure I’m qualified to summarize.

So it’ll be a while before everything is out. I wouldn’t look for everything to ship until at least next year. Lots of different contributors, plus Magpie is a ‘take the time and do it right’ kind of publisher.

  2. I got both decks from my FLGS and won’t consider running Masks without them anymore.

Although you might be able to do something like the Deck of Influence yourself, it probably won’t look as nice as the official decks (and will be a lot more work)
