FIRST SESSION PLAYTHROUGH:

FIRST SESSION PLAYTHROUGH:

FIRST SESSION PLAYTHROUGH:

Pre-session I had spent a lot of time working with the players to create NPCs for each to have connections with and debts on and for. They seemed to like this and it also gave me a lot to build on this session to drive them all together and bring them all to the same place.

We spent the majority of this session introducing the characters and setting up debts, which started a little unorganized – this is where my inexperience really showed – but one of the players stepped up to sort of lead by example. I believe the RP went well though, even though it was a shorter session because someone had to leave early. Here is a rundown.

Inky – The Vessel:

Inky is in with the Beta or the Snowfell pack so he thought he was safe, but not this morning. A group of pups kicks in the door to his butcher shop demanding the packs protection and work fee. After trying to invoke the Beta – Asher’s – name he thinks to push a physical debt, in sighting snarls and growls from all three. Seeing his cause as lost he calls for his Werewolf girlfriend upstairs, she comes down and sends them away to leave her cellphone on the counter. It rings and Inky answers only to be informed that his friend is missing after patrols in Corktown.

Mercy – The Wizard:

Waking up in the morning she checks her cell, which has a message from Chris – our Revenant – with a threat not to leave town. She makes a note to find someone to trace the call. Then she checks her emails, she has two: one from Jeremiah the Archmage asking for her presence sometime in the week – he views the visit as relatively unimportant, another from an unknown email with another threat: we know what you are doing, stop or else.

After getting ready for the day she heads to her man to trace the number that called and threatened her – and rolled poorly on her hit the street – only to find that he was sick and his elderly grandmother was holding shop – she left an illegible message.

Leaving she gets a phone call from her friend Roman – a vampire who might be a drug dealer – who was caught too close to Werewolf territory, and he did something very wrong in Corktown.

Chris : the Revenant

His player calls his own scene. He knocks on the door of Persephone’s, our Fae, tattoo shop. It’s 9:00am so the shop isn’t open and Persephone is reluctant to answer but does. She is created by threads and demands for answers about the Revenants father. I called for a Hit the Streets to see if she knew his location – which was probably the wrong move – and her player failed so she didn’t know but I suggested she lie about it. Say that he was in Corktown. Failing a mislead roll I told her the only way to avoid violence was to get him out as quickly as possible. All the while Chris was pushing and threatening. So she used one of her Fae Magic’s to put him in the mind to trust her. Leaving Chris began his journey to Corktown.

Persephone : The Fae

Immediately following that scene Persephone gets a text from her ghost informant, Marta, saying that something was going on in Corktown that she should look into. She is already heading over but I believe she needs more of a reason to go, so when she stops at her favorite coffee shop I have her favorite Barista there. She complains about her hunter daughter not returning him last night and only getting a text and so she is berreft and asks Persephone to look into it. In thanks she gives the Fae a free coffee.

Ellis : The Veteran.

Her is getting a lot of Vampire and Werewolf requests this morning, it looks like they are heading for a war. Wanting to prevent this he heads to the club Haven, a Vampire club run by the Dawnbearers coven, to talk with the Covens second in command – Orion – who was an old war friend. I have him roll hit the streets and he rolls a partial success so I dcided what he wants is going to cost more than expected. So, he walks in while they are holding court and making plans and waves the man over. After greeting Ellis rolls to figure him out and discovers Orion wants to take over the Snowfell territory and that it would take Ellis giving Orion 2 more debts for him to prevent the war immediately without bargain. Now Ellis doesn’t want to do that, he already owes Orion 2 debts for saving his life, so he goes through a moving speech about war. It was some good rp so I offered an olive branch. This was started by a Vampire/Werewolf scuffle in Corktown, if Ellis was to take care of the werewolf the war may be able to be avoided, though convincing Tituba – the head of the coven – to stand down would cost him significantly. Ellis agrees and heads to Corktown.

So I think everything went well, I brought them all together, started them in the middle of the drama, and utilized a few of their rumors.
