What’s the protocol for losing one player and gaining another with regard to the introduction questions?

What’s the protocol for losing one player and gaining another with regard to the introduction questions? Just looking for suggestions really.. Currently thinking of skipping the when the came together question unless fictionally appropriate and dealing with relationship questions after the first intro session.

  1. There’s a section on introducing a new character on page 119 of the core book, which suggests ignoring the “when you first came together”, and adjusts how setting up influence works.

  2. If its simply in session 2 or something, sometimes I’ll throw them into the when you first came together prompt and fill in a part of that story if at all possible. Often it isn’t. So, 119 works out for that then too.

  3. And now that I’ve been thinking about this, what makes sense is to connect the person to another team member (or two). They’re going to give influence to… someone. So, have those two answer the “team” questions but for themselves in a previous mission. Don’t spend a lot of time on this, as other players won’t be involved. But it gives those two some history and gives the character some reason to know others in the team. A kind of side quest they went on when they were . . . “younger”
