About half a week before we finally start our Masks: Hawai’i game, so I’m prepping a more detailed map of Honolulu. I think I posted a few years ago about a graphic artist that has done some amazing minimalist city maps, and I wanted to do something similar…though…the geography of Honolulu has made for a considerable challenge.
Still, I think it will work. I might add more detail later to my original Illustrator document, but only as it’s necessary I think.
That’s a nice and clean map. I like the style. I think it’s a hoot that the some of the most common landmarks are high schools and hospitals.

I figured the high schools would make sense for Masks, just in case the characters do go to different schools.
Absolutely! You can also infer fun info like residential population density from the location of schools, likely rivalries, and you have names to google if you want to add more color to those locations.
In Hawaii, one of the first things anyone asks when 2 people meet for the first time is “Where you grad from?”, translated to “From which high school did you graduate?”. Weird Hawaii stuff. Masks in my home town? Awesome! Good luck!
We did an urban shadows game in Hawaii that was really interesting. Lot of smuggling at the airport if I recall.
