What do you understand as “leveraging your +Mettle as a manifestation of solid willpower”?

Does it mean use +Mettle as +Armor?

Or does it mean that a character can Face Adversity with +Mettle instead of Brace For Impact?

How did you use it?

  1. So, a fundamental interaction in UW is “use [X] tool to do [Y] action”. Normally this triggers a Move, and the Move itself or the methods described dictate the Stat that gets called.

Barrier grants a new tool; the ability to create solid spaces of kinetic force. It’s not so much a Brace For Impact situation; Brace for Impact is what happens when you have already been hit. Barrier creates bridges, walls, ramps, shields, prisons, etc.

Barrier is a tool to answer the question “There is [Problem/Threat], what do you do?” It’s a very specific type of Face Adversity, a tool for problem solving.

The Clumsy is there to represent the concentration needed to maintain such a powerful manifestation of kinetic force.

    Hope that clears things up!
