It looks like the only Ruins-level families in the main book are the Merchants, the Lawgivers and the Tyrant Kings. Are there any more Ruin families in the other books? Alternately do any other families seem to work well on that scale?

  1. Sure – in Engine of Life, you’ll find the Twilight Masquerade, the Coalition, and the Syndicate of the Lost, all Ruins-flavoured. A few other families live at the Ruins level but are sufficiently weird we shunted them over to Mirrors – I’m particularly thinking of the Uplifts and the Servants.

  2. I had the same question. Where do I find “Engine of Life” or “Mirrors”? They don’t seem to be part of what I can find on DriveThrough. Thanks.

  3. Doug Bonar Engine of Life is a supplement for Legacy, still being written, though backers have access to draft playbooks. Mirrors is one of the three modes of play: Ruins is low-tech, Echoes is hi-tech, and Mirrors is weird.

  4. I am a backer, but was only just getting back to looking at the game. So I must have missed the links. I’ll go look at the kickstarter page. Cheers.

  5. Well, I couldn’t find a link anywhere, but noticed I did have the backer playbook file. And checking that, I have them and simply hadn’t noticed.

  6. James Iles Belatedly: ohhhh man, I somehow did not realize these were available; I had been holding off starting my Life Among the Ruins game because I wanted people to be able to choose from the Families in the supplements. Are these all of the ones there will be?

  7. Sean Mattox – in total there’ll be about 8 new characters, 10 new families, and 7 new wonders. So, a few more still to come!
