  1. I just use the ones from the playbooks, it’s about the characters and the factions after all.

    When I run monster of the week, on the other hand, I try to use whatever fits the mythology of the setting as created with the players. If they seem interested in western myths, we go with angels, demons and witches, mainly. Often magic gone wrong.

    In US, on the other hand, I feel no need to invent.

  2. Variety is interesting, but the key is to make sure the monsters can be people as well as monsters, and that the monsters you choose for the theme of the city and the characters
