  1. From looking around a bit and reading about others’ experience with MeWe so far, it seems to have a very large already existing userbase of alt-right and alt-lite types. Combined with the fact that the site doesn’t allow you to easily vet groups or other users (no public profiles, no open groups, “following” can only be two-way) I feel very, very skeptical. It doesn’t feel particularly safe to me.

    NB I am not trying to make a post disparaging of individual beliefs but rather addressing the realities of interacting with people who privilege individual rights to say anything, no matter how beyond the pale it may be, over, y’know, being intentional in how we approach each other as members of a community.

  2. Jeb E so far it seems to me that WeMe also having a bunch of political nutbars on board should not affect our game-related discussions. Seems like you can just pay attention to your own groups and contacts and ignore everything else, and their policies suggest they will police harassment.

    That said, it’s just a trial for now, I am happy to consider other options if anyone finds something that looks promising.
