My Spooky player has chosen his Dark Side to be Depression, Paranoia and Rage.

My Spooky player has chosen his Dark Side to be Depression, Paranoia and Rage. His powers come from Goth and Heavy Metal Prince of Darkness.

Please advice what requests can his Dark Side have of him?

I’m having hard time coming up with requests that are not PvP or that doesn’t makes the investigation more difficult.

Should I request him to just beat up a random NPCs due to Rage or abstain from taking action due to his Depression, this doesn’t sound interesting 🙁

The only good idea I had was to request him to do alternative ending to monster hunt. Instead of players killing the Monster, Dark Side wants Spooky to summon another bigger beast that will capture the Monster for the Dark Side.

That will end the investigation, but I’m not sure if this is not too big deal, I should ask bigger deals as his Luck depletes.

Please advice.

  1. Start with things that are easy and make the player feel like a rebel: tell that old man to go to hell, kick down that election sign, turn your music WAY UP. Then slowly have the dark side ask for darker and darker things…

  2. His Dark Side is depression because the Prince of Darkness is sapping his will and creative energy — so make the Prince make demands that sacrifice others’ willpower and creative energy. Is there someone in the investigation who really believes in something or is pursuing something that matters to them? Maybe the Spooky needs to stay close to them so the Prince can feed, or they have to physically destroy a sign of their will so the Prince can feed.

His Dark Side is paranoia because the Prince of Darkness is surrounded by enemies. The Spooky is his eyes and ears on the mortal plane, and the Prince intrudes on his life to demand he drop everything and investigate signs of otherworldly influence — signs that are more and more preposterous, inconvenient, unlikely, and that actually just draw more unwanted attention down on the hunters, all to reassure the Prince.

His Darkside is Rage because the Prince of Darkness is filled with wrath. What does the Prince of Darkess hate? Weakness? Sacrifice? Kindness? Love? Whatever he hates, he puts the Spooky on a collision course with symbols of his chosen hatred. The Spooky may be expected to abandon investigations at critical junctures to destroy, deface, or disrupt signs of what the Prince hates. This can turn into lots of harassing NPCs peripheral to the investigation, all just because of their presence, and all because they pissed off some great evil they have no idea exists.
