Question: Has anyone done any work on a Batman/Vigilante style game using AW as a base?
I was brainstorming an Urban Shadows style game where a group plays the main characters: commissioner, vigilante, FBI agent, etc…
Any comments or links appreciated!
I put some thought into it, for a game that was using Gotham as a setting from the perspective of criminals. Turning into henchmen for the crazy villains over time.
In the end I went with A Dirty World for that game, so I never produced a hack.
But I would be interested in seeing something like it happen. From the vigilane perspective too.
Mark Diaz Truman is working on a Gotham PD inspired game. 🙂
Yes! My game is called By The Book. In it, you play straight cops in a crooked city, trying to clean up your town in the face of massive corruption, violence, and organized crime. Meanwhile, rumors of a Mask swirl, leaving you wondering: is this our city… or the Mask’s?
Mark Diaz Truman That sounds really cool. Is there a option to play as the criminals also?
Also I will volunteer to play Batman in any game 🙂 haha
Mark Diaz Truman I’m ready to playtest that whenever you’re ready. 🙂
Dani Cox – Actually… since each pair of PCs plays a detective team, you play the criminals when the other two players are playing their detectives.
John Harper – I’ll see what I can do… 😀
Nice. Look forward to seeing this.
I hate superheroes and I really enjoyed playing By The Book! Probably because it isn’t about superheroes.
Mark Diaz Truman who do I need to kill to get that?
I looked at simple world to see how I could start brainstorming it from scratch, but Dirty World sounds like something I should take a look at also. Is ‘The Hood any good? Yo!
Rich Glover – It’s not quite ready for primetime, but I’m hopeful that it will be soon. I’ll post here in this community when I have something ready to go!
In the past I found Street level http://foragerblog.blogspot.fr/2010/04/street-level.html
Also, Worlds in peril could maybe do the trick
Rich Glover, I am one of the major editors (and the graphic designer) for the ‘Hood and it is a wonderful game, but it is the exact opposite of what you are looking for. The ‘Hood are those that either do bad or accept that others in their community are up to no good.
