Looking for PbtA games that do not have playbooks, ala Freebooting Venus or Amazons. Any suggestions?

Do you count the Warren, there is just one playbook for a bunny, that’s it.
Uncharted Worlds is a winner in my book. Combine two careers with an origin to create a character.
.
Magical Fury is a minimalist PbtA game where everyone is a magical girl with the same set of moves. What sets you apart is your theme and how you interact with the world.
Yoshi Creelman I guess that could be considered a single playbook, but more looking for robust non-playbook style character generation.
Todd Zircher Thanks. Will check that out.
I Am Killbot in which everyone plays a killbot and can ENGAGE MURDERMODE. I dunno where I found it though
Uncharted Worlds comes close.
The Far Beyond Humanity companion to Uncharted Worlds really unlocks the power of that system.
Nano World deserves a look.
Class Warfare for Dungeon World changes up what the playbooks are, which may be relevant to your goals.
Todd Zircher Agreed!
Worlds in Peril
I’ve come across a Night’s Black Agents hack that uses the Gumshoe approach to chargen (as in ‘spread some dots among a skill list’). On the other hand, it might be a bit too off from typical PbtA standard.
Vincent Baker ‘s pbta games, murderous ghosts, doomed traveller, and firebrands are great examples of how to stretch the design space of pbta past the core apocalypse world mechanics like playbooks.
David Rivas Agreed on this one, too! It does drive Champions and FASERIP fans a bit nuts, tho. (grin)
What us it you think ditching playbooks will buy you? What’s the goal? Personally the fact that so much of the game system and what’s cool about the character is right there in front if the player is one of the things I love about PBTA games.
Simon Hibbs Because it fits my vision for the game I want. Simple as that.
