Started running a campaign last week and everything has been running really well. The first lesson learned,
– all weapons are Keyed to their owners, so scavenging is kept to a minimum.

Its also a bummer to find out the weapons you’ve taken were used in the Rigellian Massacre last month, so carrying them comes with a boatload of Debt from the people looking for the perpetrators.
Nice, glad the session went well.
Interesting idea with the Keyed! Especially if you have a galactic standard of weapon safety (and a specific Faction that polices such things, or an agreement between Factions). In that kind of setting, I’d suggest making Keyed a free upgrade (i.e. a manufacturing standard across all firearms) and that “Unkeyed” (i.e. untraceable) be an upgrade a character can purchase with a Class 1+ Firearm, usually from a black market.
I love “Unkeyed”
Alfred Rudzki wow that’s an interesting use of Debt. I still struggle with handling Debt properly in UW, and am trying my hardest to not introduce Debt Moves from Urban Shadows. You should write a post on handling Debt!
I could be persuaded to write up some thoughts. I’ll see what I can do.
Alfred Rudzki brilliant idea, to be used once. I believe the Unkeyed tag to be more plausible and useful on the long run.
DNA-locked handguns. Yup, definitely more plausible than “handguns have a paper trail” 😉
