Hey there. I just picked up WWWRPG and I’m loving it. I was wondering how to do some of the special types of matches, like Iron Man, Inferno, or a countout. Thanks!

I would say that these are mostly narrative constraints on how moves can be described and how the flow of the match progresses. That being said, I would like to see some crunch if people have it.
Countout is a champion move where the champ can “save the belt” by getting counted out. This is mostly narrative
Not Sure what an Inferno match is, but guessing it involves fire, in which case use the Revel in Violence move.
Iron Man, good one. Perhaps add a special move that drains momentum from the opponent. Whenever opponent hits zero momentum gain a fall. Or maybe spend 2 momentum to gain a fall.
Inferno is where they light the outside of the ring on fire and loser is rolled through it to the outside area of the ring. I’ve only seen it in the video games admittedly but my players think it sounds awesome.
Seems purely narrative, but if you want. Add to the Finishing move – 7-9: loser takes an injury, Botch: both competitors take injury. 10+ no one gets (seriously) hurt
Those sound like good ideas, thanks. I think for the Iron Man match, I like your idea. Maybe something like:
Spend 2 Momentum and roll:
10+ You get a clean fall and retain control of the match. Gain 1 Heat.
7-9 You get a fall but lose control of the match
6- You lost control of the match
Didn’t make it terribly penalizing. How does that sound? Thanks again for the input!
