I am really looking forward to running an UW game but when we get together the character creation needs to be fairly quick. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to speed up creation so the dice can hit the table?

I am new here so I hope I am not asking something that is already answered. Can anyone tell me if the UW setting works as a platform for a Fading Suns conversion?
