Thank you all for creating this amazing RPG! I got my core book last night, and it is gorgeous. Even better, I was talking to my boyfriend about the game, he went and read about it, and he’s looking at adding it to his book collection.

I do hope I can eventually get my hands on the rest of the books (as opposed to just the PDFs), and/or the objects that were unlocked. I could only afford the core book, and I want more!

More Sisterly Bonds to the same Sister

More Sisterly Bonds to the same Sister

There is something I still have to figure out: can one player give more than one Sisterly Bond to the same Sister?

This is something I am asking myself because it seems to me that, in a 4-player game (3 Sisters plus the Groundkeeper), the Sisters are left with just a little choice: they could only choose which of the other Sisters will get the first bond, and the other one will surely get the second one.

A pretty heavy question: do you think there’s room in this game to tackle trans themes and narratives at all?

How much prep is too much?

How much prep is too much?

How much prep is too much? I know the groundskeeper has got to make the horror personal, but knowing my own strengths and weaknesses as a GM, I can trip up on full improvisation a bit if I don’t come in with some ideas.

Is it generally fine to have a collection of rooms and horrors thought out ahead of time, maybe a few servants, and jettison them if they really don’t match up well with wedding prep? I’ve noticed some common threads in some of the actual plays out there, horrors or rooms that the groundskeeper falls back on but twists to fit the table, but I am just as concerned with coming across over-planned as I am with coming across like I have no idea what I’m doing.

Rules question: passing the ring

Rules question: passing the ring

Rules question: passing the ring

Can I clarify when the Ring moves on? It’s mentioned in the summary sheets, but I can’t find confirmation in the main rules text.

As I understand it:

* The Ring moves on after every Ring move, and whenever the Ring holder takes Trauma.

* The Ring doesn’t move otherwise (though the Give up the Ring move means it can move at about any time).

Are both those true?

When the Ring moves, how much choice is there on where it moves to? Is it always to be Sister sat to the left (or right), or can it go to anyone? Does every Sister have to hold the Ring once before it can go to someone for a second time?

Thanks!

Finally (yes, I know it came out 32 years ago) reading Handmaid’s Tale ahead of the Hulu version, and feeling a lot of echoed themes. Was any inspiration taken from it?

Is there an estimated release date for Bluebeard’s Bride?

Is there an estimated release date for Bluebeard’s Bride? I noticed on the order page that it’s still listed as preorder and the last post here was a couple months ago, so I’m just curious when I might be able to get my hands on it.

Just curious (as I’m hoping to run this, this weekend). What is a ‘burden’?

In the Start of Session summary, Step 2 says “Have them fill out wedding prep, stats and burdens”. But I can’t see that on the playbooks.
