I don’t think this interview ever got posted here. A large chunk of it focuses Bluebeard. It’s older, but still has some interesting nuggets.

I had the immense and disturbing pleasure of sitting at Sarah Richardson’s table at Gen Con to try out Bluebeard’s Bride. The hype is all very well-justified and I can’t wait for the Kickstarter to launch. Sarah’s also a masterful GM, so if you ever attend any convention, try to seek out any events she runs. We were in a particularly noisy hall and it still felt like you could hear a pin drop.

Any word on higher level backer reward ideas? This is the kind of game I would happily buy a leather bound edition with a lock and key for.

We have an exciting announcement to share!

We have an exciting announcement to share! The completed draft of the Bluebeard book text has been sent to dev editing!

The three of us are very proud that we’ve come this far on the journey. It all started with two strangers sitting down at a game jam (Sarah Richardson and me!) with Marissa Kelly there to assist wayward game designers. Sarah and I both said that we loved fairy tales. I had an idea to do Bluebeard and Sarah and I instantly connected on it. Marissa got sucked in while trying to help us figure out how to structure it.

By the end of the jam it gripped all of us so hard that we knew we couldn’t let it go. We knew it was ours. The three of us have brought very different but integral elements to the creation of this game. Together, we’ve definitely made something better than any of us would have on our own.

We can’t wait to set this thing loose on the world. Thanks to the Bluebeard community for all your support and enthusiasm. This little horror is gonna get born! <3
