My apologies if this has been asked before, but are the additional playbooks mentioned on page 166 of the book available anywhere, or do we need to wait for the supplements to enjoy them?

Just trying to find ways to feed the habit. 🙂

I’m trying to set up hooks and arcs for my groups game, but I’m struggling to grasp how they’re meant to work, and fit together. It would be great to see some examples of what other people have done, to get a better idea of what sort of thing might work.

Would any of you mind sharing any arcs you’ve used, or general advice on what makes a good arc and good hooks?

Thanks!

Hi the softcover version come to Czech republick too its pretty cool and i am happy to find a group to play with. But i have one little question. Why they are not play books at the core book ( i mean in a form as they are in pdf file Mask-playbooks) its only 20 pages and the whole book is really missing without it (yeah you can print it tho) but still to tak about abilities(special moves and all what is detaily descibet in core.) and have a need to look elsewhere (to know what abilities are what are the whole moves what is you character moment of truth …) is kind of bad.

Maybe its only mine fealing about that and other than that the book is quite of awasome and easy to understand even if english is not our born laguages

One of the givens of the setting is that Halcyon City has adapted to the presence of super-heroes and -villains. What does that look like in your games?

The softcover arrived yesterday (in Italy), and it’s gorgeous!

And I am each day more in love with this game… It just clicks all my buttons, and runs extremely well.

Last session the game brought up from my “I just wanna bash super villains” players all the teen dynamics it’s supposed to, without forcing them at all… And we liked that!

Retooled the Golden Age villain I’m starting my Saturday morning session with to be a little bit less of a comedy act, while still retaining the Golden Age feel to him.

Also, after getting all of the advice I got, I scrapped my original half-assed motivations, moves, and condition choices, and I feel like my villains and potential villains make a lot more sense now.

The first pass of setting up the scenario felt like I was mimicking what needed to be done, but the second pass felt more like I “got” it, rather than just being cognitive of what I read.

So again, thanks all.

Hopefully all of this “getting” the game translates into me running the game well and drawing the players in to help contribute to the session at the table being awesome.

How are people personalizing Halcyon City?

How are people personalizing Halcyon City? In the one shot I played, it just felt very generic. The characters were awesome of course and we started building up NPCs but the setting was sparse.

I was thinking that when I run Masks, we might spend a little while establishing a feel for H.C. and then move towards building a team of characters after that.
