I’m pleased to announce that Monsterhearts is being translated into brazilian portuguese, to be released later this year!
Currently involved in an amateur production of “The Jungle Book” which is in an urban setting with the Jungle People…
Currently involved in an amateur production of “The Jungle Book” which is in an urban setting with the Jungle People being the underbelly of society rather than actual animals. They move and behave in animalistic ways but are still “people” if not humans. I immediately drew parallels with Monsterhearts so I’m trying to make a “Junglehearts” hack to play with some of the cast. Some of the skins are lending themselves to fairly direct translation (eg Queen-Snake) others are a fairly simple mix of two (eg Ghoul/Fae- Jackal) but I’m having some trouble with the Bear. I’ve looked at Topher Gerkey’s Beast as a base, but Baloo is more calm and wise. The Calaca’s casting the bones is actually perfect but I need to try and create some other moves to fill the skin out. Anyone have any ideas?

This document has all the Monsterhearts skins I’ve released so far (the Beast, the Calaca, the Fury, the Proxy, and the Unseen) collected in one convenient package.
“But Topher,” I hear you say, “I already downloaded all those. Why would I get this?”
Because there’s new content too! An “Under the Skin” MC advice section for each playbook is included. ^_^
I’ll update this document as I release new skins so you can always get the compiled version if you want it. THIS IS FREE SHIT. Please share it with anyone who wants it! Hello everyone! I have been working on a skin of my own and have decided to post it to this community for feedback. It’s not in a pretty playbook format, which is fine, because I am most interested in what people think of the concept, the Moves, the text, etc. I’d love to make it more monstrous somehow, it almost feels a bit tame. Okay, the Calaca skin is officially released (https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7MY0xQ1QUJMVnpyQkdwWFF2a1U/edit?usp=sharing if you somehow missed me spamming the link)! It basically lets you play a cheerful and helpful skeleton person. The major influence is the Mexican “Day of the Dead” holiday, with bits and pieces of inspiration coming from stuff like Nightmare Before Christmas, Monster High (specifically the characters C.A. Cupid and Skelita Calaveras), the wedding level of Little Big Planet, MediEvil, and Grim Fandango. I hope you enjoy it – it was a lot of fun to write!
