Since its kickstarter a lot of people have asked about adding mad max-style vehicular action to Legacy – in the base game vehicles exist but they’re mainly used as props and for fictional positioning rather than any mechanical weight. For those who want a bit more focus, I’ve hacked AW’s car rules to fit them into Legacy’s mechanics – let me know how it goes if you use them, or if you have questions!

More changes to the rulebooks, besides some basic typographical corrections:

 – Adjusted some of the basic and peripheral moves, e.g. changed the wording of the outcomes and how many you get to pick when you tell a lie.

 – Expanded the chapter on creating your character to include a discussion about age, gender, ethnicity, ability and prosperity.

 – Expanded the chapter on trouble to make the function of this rule-set clearer.

 – Added a chapter about experience and advances.

 – Added a principle to the MC’s advice.

 – Added a chapter describing how different groups of kids create different stories, and vice versa.

Also, added a picture to the front cover, because why not?

So I finished my 24 hour rpg challenge with about an hour to spare and a whopping 9,641 word count.  I like the game I wrote (given the limited time available to edit and test), but I don’t think it will be popular with the RPGgeek community.  Why, because it is a not a happy game about exciting things.  It’s about mundane and yet troubling/depressing problems that student face.  Take that fun!  In any case, I used a lot of the AW framework, but tried some new things.  You can take a look at it here:

I drafted a QuickStart document for City of Judas, my AW fantasy hack of medieval mercenaries.

The document contains half-pre-gen characters (with some space for players’ customization) that should speed up the game start, and ideas for the GM to spring a first mission for the mercenaries.

It’s aimed to help new GMs and players to run one-shots for example at conventions.

Do you think it provides enough material? Would a more focused scenario work better in your opinion?

Hi everybody,

We updated the City of Judas package, adding a QuickStart document for one-shots and conventions.

It contains pre-gen characters (with just a little customization left to do for the players), and some GM material like maps and ideas for Iron Fist missions. It should help you to get your game started, especially if you’re planning to test it with a one-shot.

The document is linked already in the right upper corner, in the info about the community, and here:

As always, your feedback and suggestions are welcome!

If there’s something you’d like to contribute to the QuickStart document (i.e. some adventure seeds or ideas from your own City Of Judas game), just let me know!

Okay, the GUMSHOE event is canceled, so the next one-shot I have planned is tomorrow evening.

Just a Game Powered by the Apocalypse Rules.

You’re logging up on the computer, happily cracking open the brand new shiny MMO you just downloading from the company site, ready to make your character and start on a new set of adventures. But something changes when you click “start playing”….because instead of watching a load screen boot up, you find the world turning black and when you wake up it seems like you’ve become your character and the world around you is…is the tutorial mission. What the hell is going on here?

New around here, hi!

New around here, hi!

New around here, hi!

So, a while ago I made a little, short form AW hack about armed robbery. It’s called 211, and leans more to Over the Top and Action than Realism. My friends and I have had fun with it, but I’m just now trying to get it out in front of other people. If anyone wants to give it a try, I’d love to hear about it.
