Viglund (son of the Godi) and Bryndis (local Seidkona) went to Egil’s house. Egil, being a rich local fisherman, invited them in and drank mead with Viglund. Bryndis took leave and disappeared outside. Moments later, Bryndis was shouting for help and Viglund rushed outside. When Egil followed, he found Viglund and his Huscarl Thorolf fighting in the street. Viglund killed Thorolf. Olaf (Egil’s Thrall) said that Bryndis lured Thorolf into a trap and that it was a set-up, the Huscarl was murdered! Bryndis was hurt in the process and is currently unconscious, recovering. Viglund claims that he was there to give back some money that Thorolf gave Bryndis in an attempt to woo her, and that she felt like he was going to hurt her, so she enlisted him to come and give the gift back and reject Thorolf’s advances, but Olaf claims that it was all a setup – that Bryndis enticed Thorolf but that it was all just to kill Thorolf for some perceived crime against her former lover, Steinar (recently slain in a viking raid).

What’s the process, here? There’s likely to be a trial, but Thorolf has no family to speak of and the only actual witnesses are Bryndis and the Thrall, Olaf. What do you think, O sages?

Am I missing a way for PCs to spend Bonds to help/interfere with NPCs, or does the Seithkona’s spell-weaver really only affect the other PCs?

Thanks for any answers 🙂 I’m late to the party with this game and just need some clarification.

What is the cultural context for “burying gold or silver in the ground for safekeeping” being punishable with Lesser Outlawry? I’m really curious.

Our Sunday group started up an ongoing game last weekend. Beginning with the Man, the Woman and the Huscarl, all siblings. We got some great conflicts brewing in short order. Excited for next Sunday!

I had a question from a situation that arose from play. Has the male insult Move been made when there is no one else present to judge the truth of the insult?

My Huscarl Vebjorn confided (Confidante) in his brother Snorri (the Man) that he had slept with the wife of his lord from the neighboring homestead. Snorri rebuked him, calling him a fool. He made the insult Move and the result was an eight. I wasn’t inclined to have Vebjorn attack or challenge his brother to a duel in their first scene together and demanding an apology felt a bit like blocking in this case so I looked to the 10+ results.

There wasn’t anyone else present so it didn’t feel to me like the insult could stick, leaving me with having the Huscarl act to prove otherwise (that Vebjorn is not a fool). Vebjorn asked his brother what he should do about the situation to act with more wisdom going forward. His response provided material that will lead to all kinds of fun trouble so I’m super happy with the result.

But now I’m wondering if you can really make the insult Move if it’s a private conversation.

Just picked up the PDF, and I just have a technical question.

Just picked up the PDF, and I just have a technical question. Is PDF fulfillment automated, or is Gregor Vuga the final stop on giving the electronic go-ahead before a PDF go out? Or maybe I missed something when I was returned to the web page after confirming my purchase. Sorry for such a bland question, y’all, just troubleshooting my current lack of PDF. Its not dire, obviously — just figuring out where I stand. Thanks 🙂
