I joined my buddy John Brooks to attend #Dreamation. We had heard a few things about it from other folks at Games on Demand. Played some good games, some mediocre games but the highlight was playing #TheWard, a new PBtA story game by Kevin Petker. This game models medical drama/comedies and hit the tone right on. While we took it the drama route, the game is flexible in all the best ways other PBtA games are but still felt wonderfully specific to the genre (saving lives, interpersonal conflict, the one nurse that keeps the hospital from falling apart). Magpie Games I can’t wait to play it again, even if I have to wait until #GenCon.

Andrew Medeiros, good question from the Vampire at the #gencon game. He took the corruption move that allows any other AT’s corruption move.  He wanted the Fae’s move that lets them take additional Fae Powers, but it says take the rest of the Fae Powers. Being that he hasn’t taken any, makes it confusing.

I personally think it should be rewarded for the Fae, take X amount more powers. Yes, that may be the rest of the powers, but it solves two issues. 1.) if you are making new powers as a hacker and this problem with the Vampire or any others than have such lingo.

I also wanted to point out, that a few people expressed confusion when having to choose X negatives? They couldn’t initially tell if they were choosing X number of moves to keep the MC from using or X number of moves that they would then isolate the MC too use.

Back from England and had an amazing time! Some wonderful inspirations there for both my fantasy and urban fantasy gaming! I am rejuvenated and excited for GenCon coming up next week. Going to be running demos of Urban Shadows at Games of Demand and trying to get the word out in general about the game.

Any of you going to GenCon as well? Maybe wan’t to meet up for a pick-up game or share a beer or two?
