Kai, bull. They’re incredibly tiny, but they weight a lot more than expected because their bones are denser. They wear bright colors and jewelry. Their superhero name is Hurricane.

Yuu, nova. He’s a sorcerer with a passion for dragons. She even tried to hatch one, once. That’s when he got that ugly scar on the face. Oh wait, you don’t see it because she hides it with magic all the time. Superhero name: The Marvelous (with the article).

The sound of wind over icy shores, outsider. It comes from a icy planet in the solar system. Its body is that of an elongated human, with androginous features. It reads minds, flies, can harvest the power of the sun. It doesn’t have a superhero name.

Dani, legacy. Her family is a matriarchal one. Their powers of shadow manipulation are strictly passed to women from mother to daughter. They don’t know why Dani has them too. They’re wary of her. Her sister forces her to wear skirts when training. She doesn’t like skirts very much. Her superhero name is Ombra.

Marshal/Marcie, protege. Starlight is one of the most feared and revered heroes in Halcyon city, and also the godfather of MM. He taught them everything to be a hero, even if they lack his powers. He loves them as a son, which sometimes hurts MM. Starlight cannot wrap his head around this pronouns thing, so mostly he call them by their superhero name: Dawn.

Victor, janus. By day, brilliant student and athlete. By night, the terror of criminals: Dark Matter, a superheroine who can absorb every kind of energy. But these lives must stay separated: Victor’s parents won’t take kindly that their son wears a skirt to fight thugs.

Max, delinquent. Ze is an activist, using hir powers to sabotage whatever ze’s bent on undoing. Given that they can teleport and mess with people’s emotions there have been an awful lot of riots recently. Hir response to “what’s your superhero name” is “fuck you”

Frances, doomed. Their power is to transmutate every part of their body into stone or metal. The problem is that their slowly turning completely into a statue. They’re also growing steel horns. It’s not pretty. Their superhero name is Gargoyle

Roimata, transformed. She wanted to be a figure skater, before the accident. Now she resembles an ice cleaning machine: big, bulky, mostly steely and plastic with an hint of human flesh here and there. And not feminine at all. She doesn’t want a superhero name, but the media already baptized her as Goshzilla, from an embarassing moment captured in video of her facing another enormous monster and going “Oh Gosh”.

Kris, beacon. They told him he could become whatever he wanted, so they became a superhero. They trained hard and hard, and made a costume by themselves: Hunter green, like a true archer. Hm, and another costume, from when she felt more in the mood for more flashing colours. He’s now working on a more techno-inspired costume, with an augmented reality visor. They change names as fast as clothes. Arrow, Queever, The Last Bow, Killer Gal, Killer Boy, Killer, Skiller, Shaft (oh god never again), Captain Wood (aaaaah somehow worse), Fast Shooter (ok now everything is going to sound dirty).

Why in Apocalypse World I always begin the game with a mess that it’s totally NOT my fault?
