Sleeper moment of the show for me was realizing that the Baron Corbin debut was a total trope-inverting moment. Dude’s already in the ring, no entrance music (and to the regular NXT audience, he’s a shlub who’s never done anything) – and he DESTROYS a known, active member of the roster. It was awesome! Baron Corbin looks like a beast and I’m pumped to see more of him.

In #WWWRPG terms, that’s a Jobber changing playbook right there.

My biggest concern is that WWE developmentally-trained dudes won’t know how to deal with his stuff, but hey, hopefully I’ll be delightfully surprised.

Listened to the most recent Steve Austin podcast w/Paul Heyman, which I quite enjoyed. One thing they talk about is how WWF/WWE was (and still is) a babyface territory, and NWA was a heel territory.

The difference between coming to see the hero win and coming to see the hero struggle is a pretty good one to keep in mind when booking your WWWRPG matches, I think!

So I’d love to run a session of WWWRPG over Google Hangout (perhaps Live/On Air/whatever it’s called), but def recorded to give folks a live example of play resource.

Ideal:

– 4 players (plus myself). Less is ok, I think more will make it harder to watch.

– players who have played the game in some form, and/or are experience with PbtA games in general. The goal is to keep the explanatory chit-chat to a minimum.

– Can commit to a 3-hour block to play

I’d run a single intro session where we go through character creation, but we’d do some pre-game emailing for everyone to pick their Gimmick and the non-mechanical stuff beforehand, I think, in the interest of time.

I’m thinking early next week, probably in the evening – I’m very flexible.

So. Volunteers? Good time slots? (I’m on central time)
