Hi fellow US’!

Hi fellow US’!

Hi fellow US’!

I just stumbles over a small passage on the Scholar Playbook from the Dark Streets supplemental, that bugged me a little.

The final Corruption Move states, that the Scholar can:

Retire your character. They may return as a Threat.

Who are they? I guess it’s the Network, but I’m not quite sure. Any ideas?

Hi there!

My US group have been running for some time now, and we had a discussion about the Debts, that my players and I find both limiting and unnecessary, so we decided to let them go, as they don’t provide anything for us, that we don’t already handle.

The question is if anyone of you had any experience with this? Is just letting them go okay, or did you find other alternatives?

Hi guys!

Hi guys!

Hi guys!

Is there any of you with a nifty idea how to keep track of Debts between players? I’m thinking about using tokens with names on them or something, but would seriously love to avoid having the players simply write down the Debts, as they are quite lazy and tend to forget stuff like that.

Tokens are visible, which emphasizes using them actively. 🙂

I would love to hear your ideas, thoughts and experiences.

Hi guys!

Hi guys!

Hi guys!

I’m preparing for my first US session, and I’m well prepared. One thing bugs me though, and that’s the two Spectre Moves Manifest and Wall? What Wall?, as I think they contradict each other.

If the Spectre is not manifested, and thus intangible to the normal physical realm, why does he need an opening to Escape (as per the Wall? What Wall? move)? Couldn’t he just leave? Nothing can keep him in anyway.

Please share your ideas, thoughts and experience with these two Moves.

Hi guys!

Hi guys!

Hi guys!

I’ve created my first city (Bellingham, WA) and are preparing the start of my first Urban Shadows campaign after the Danish summer holiday has ended.

I’m not short on ideas, creativity or experience with either improvisation or PbtA.

So everything should be fine. If it wasn’t for the Factions. They tend to confuse me a bit, and therefore I seek your experience and help.

I’ve decided to allow all Playbooks, just for the diversity and freedom of choice. (We like freedom of choice in Denmark.)

My questions are …

1. Do you force players to be part of the same Faction?

2. If not, how do you handle their different interests, and how do they manage to work together?

In my version of Bellingham, Power and Night are the leading Factions, with Vamps, Wolfs and Wizards being the major forces. (I think this is a classical setup.)

Hope my ramblings makes sense, and that you will share your experience with me.

Hi fellow Sprawlers!

Hi fellow Sprawlers!

Hi fellow Sprawlers!

I have a question regarding getting paid, that causes me a bit of a headache. (It might be because of the language barrier, as english is not my native tongue.)

As far as I can read, the characters invest 1-3 Creds during get the job. When the mission is over, and it’s time to get paid, a player makes a +empty legwork clock check.

– If you chose “the job pays well” in get the job, you receive twice your investment.

– If you choose “the job pays in full” when getting paid, you receive three times your investments – IF you also chose that the job paid well.

… but what if you didn’t chose that the job pays well or that you are paid in full? Or what if the job doesn’t pay well, but you are paid in full (or vice versa)?

Unfortunately I wasn’t prepared for the discussion the payment phase started (they chose to get fucked over, and I fucked them over), so I decided to ask this group, so I’m 100 % prepared for our next session in two weeks.

Hope you will/can clarify.

Hi guys!

Hi guys!

Hi guys!

I have two rule questions anchored in the hacker, that I hope you can help me clarify:

1. In the hacker playbook, the player can choose between two cyberdecks. Both decks allow the hacker to choose one program more than the Processor of the deck, even though the rules explains that you receive programs equal to the Processor rating. Am I missing something here?

2. When you choose programs, does the Efficiency Routines (+2 Processor) allow you to choose yet 2 more programs?

I hope some hacker-nerd can help me. 🙂

All the best
