So, I know this has been mentioned before …. at least once by myself. I am going to be running a Monsterhearts campaign where everyone MC’s and everyone plays.

We are splitting the MC duties by location, but could easily by Threats. Due to some feedback from various previous post we will keep only two minor rules.

1. Try not to contradict previous MC’s without tying in fiction. ex. The Sheriff is leaving town for good, then the next MC has him coming back without explaining why.

2. The MC can not have conversations between NPCs and their characters. NPC’s can talk to your character, but not with your character. Keeps from talking to yourself.

We are also doing two minor suggestions:

1. Outgoing MC is allowed soft moves on all characters if applicable and the situation seems appropriate.

2. Incoming MC is allowed to have their character make an action before assuming MC duties.

What I need to work out is actions by the MC’s character. How to treat combat ext…

I see that you can mark the highlighted faction on the character sheets, but not a place for marking that each one…

I see the observe a person and place moves were combined?

What happens if I am in the center of a city and just want to observe the area for potential threats? It no longer works as “Figure someone out” and it is not “investigate a Place of Power” since it is not a place of power. What do my players then do? I think this can be easily solved by saying “Figure someone/something out”.

Also, I am loving the new debt move and the better treatment of factions.

From Basic Moves 2.0

From Basic Moves 2.0

Is it me or does “mislead, distract or trick” and “persuade an npc” overlap quite a bit?

Also, so I am assuming we are using highlighted stats for factions …. which means that no longer gives XP?

Last, why remove the advanced versions from underneath the basic moves? If I want to look at quick glance  of it’s attached move …. i have to go to a different page.

Tim Franzke, I saw a few people talking about how to get XP (I am assuming AW new players,) curious on your opinion…

Tim Franzke, I saw a few people talking about how to get XP (I am assuming AW new players,) curious on your opinion if you preferred the AW method of highlighted stats, the DW method or the AW:Dark Ages method? I am guessing US though in it’s final stages isn’t 100% designed, so this mechanic could possibly be affected.

I added the AW:DA method quite easily into my game of US, I have quite enjoyed it.

“Mark experience by filling in one of the little experience bubbles on your character sheet when you use any basic, faction/rapport, corruption, debt or archetype/add-on move with that move counting only 1 time towards XP during that advancement.

When you gain 6 experience, then advance and erase your marks.

There are two exceptions to this rule: the moves Spellcasting and the move Fae Magic. You do not receive experience when you use those particular moves, but will gain XP each new spell or faerie power you use.

Certain moves / traits designate additional experience when activated, giving direction on how and when such experience is gained.”
