This might just be plain silly.

This might just be plain silly.

This might just be plain silly… Advancement has a definite nine options for each character. If you do not erase the Advancement at one point, they’ll be filled up after about two seasons. I understand that Apocalypse World tells you not erase the Advancements. But Monsterhearts functions differently. I wouldn’t feel too bad about allowing the players to erase their Advancements at the beginning of a new season. Okay, they erase the Advancements but get to keep the moves, stats and gang the bought. Would that unbalance the game?

  1. i wouldn’t erase advancements. You only get so many moves. After 2 seasons that characater arc should be done and either you get a new skin and loose and gain a few things OR you retire your character and play a new one. I don’t see the problem really.

Monsterhearts is not supposed to be played in a “forever going campaign” but has a end-game so to speak.

  2. But it wouldn’t break the game, would it? I have a request from a player to turn this into something more long term, if he likes the game. I guess erasing the advances at the end of a season would give you another one or two seasons with the skin. I have to think some more about this.
