Day#3 of Archetype-Avatars brings us to none other than The Hunter. Fearless, dedicated, resourceful, and smoldering (well, usually smoldering).
This one was easy for me since the Archetype was inspired directly by him. I present to you, my archetypal Hunter: Supernatural’s Dean Winchester. [swoon]
Who do you call when the shadows encircle you?

In our group we thought it was based on Buffy, the vampire slayer.
Buffy certainly played a part in it, but the Hunter isn’t typically as supernatural as she is.
Last Hunter I played was based on Hunter, from Neverwhere.
It is hard to get Dean out of your head though.
Brand Robins, Hunter is a GREAT example! I also think Richard is a great Aware and Door a fantastic Fae.
Oh, and Buffy’s player just kept taking moves from other playbooks, raised her Spirit, and advanced Let It Out so she could add new supernatural moves.
Oliver Queen
not my favorite. Just wanted to mention someone outside of Urban Fantasy.
Kate and Christopher Argent and the Calavera family from Teen Wolf!
How about Gunn from Angel?
::swoon::
Van Helsing from that hilari-schlocky action pic a while back!
I don’t like the movie much, but Jack Crow from John Carpenter’s Vampire channels the Hunter quite well too.
Dr. Clementine Chasseur, Hemlock Grove
Robert Ruthven, Gunn is a solid choice! Def in my top five.
Stras Acimovic, I completely forgot about Clementine, fantastic suggestion!!
I should probably watch Hemlock Grove one of these days. Might as well, since it’s a Netflix show and I’m a subscriber.
I like Whistler from the Blade movies as a Hunter. Talk about grizzled.
PK Sullivan I think he’s more of a Veteran, tbh. In fact, one of that archetype’s corruption move is a direct quote of Whistler. 😉
Stop it you guys, you’re gonna ruin the Veteran example post! 😛
You can’t contain my mancrush on Whistler, Andrew.
Back to my Buffyverse obsession I always pictured Gunn or Robin Wood. Especially Robin Wood.
