  1. MMmm is based in a trilogy. Is something like Transilvanian Vampires + Pandemia. An old vampire spread the vampirism in a city using secrecy and manipulating Power Figures. Vampirism is like a plague, a sickness that transform humans in monsters. The character are human that are aware of this but nobody belives in them. Step by step, silently, the “contangion” take control of the city, eventually Submergin the city in a total “darkness”. The main characters are a Old vampire hunter from Armenia, an empathic doctor and a Specialist in inmunology. very pragmatic and with alchogol abuse problems: The vampires are very inhumane, almost demonic forces.

  2. From what I know of The Strain (Guillermo Del Toro) it’s a vampire apocalypse. In my limited opinion it would not work straight out of the box because U-S really shines brightest when you have representation from all of the factions. So, it would work if you did some re-workings on the play books and faction moves.

I tried to convert Delta Green to US and have had limited success marrying the two genres. While DG and The Strain are not similar I do think they are examples of genres better suited to different games.

  3. I think exactly the same! You need “human” monsters to play Urban Shadows. This is ofr games more like Hellblazer or Dresden Files, right?

  4. Maybe more the original Apocalypse World or a PbtA Apocalypse World hack as the vampires in The Strain are less your regular human Vampire goon as more a mixture of Zombies and Vampires. With like three or four that are sociable enough that you may talk to them, of which only one cares enough to pose as a human.

(Vampires in the Strain look like naked, genderless, deformed humans who shoot a “tentacle” from their mouth to “bite” other people and infect them with vampire-worms)
