– You step back 2 critical conditions, conscious with three Critical Conditions.

– You step back to the 4th Critical Condition.

  1. I think the move is pretty clear on that:

When you try to keep on going despite taking a fourth Critical Condition, roll. On a 10+, you do it, you’re in a bad spot but you’re still alive and conscious with three Critical Conditions.

You can have three Critical Conditions, if you get another one you make the roll. If you succeed you stick at 3, because that’s the max. Where are you getting 5 from?

  2. Right, yeah. So if they do that it’s the same process, they can just take another Critical Condition before having to make the Last Chance move.

  3. 3 (or for if you’ve advanced 4) Critical Conditions signifies you’re almost dead. You can’t be extra almost dead. If you succeed on your Last Chance move, then you remain almost dead at either 3 or 4 Critical Conditions. Damage done to you is not reversed and you are not healed in any way, you just don’t die (4 Critical Conditions signifies death, or 5 if you’ve advanced, as per the Dead For Now move).
