My skin The Incubus seems to have disappeared from the internet again.

My skin The Incubus seems to have disappeared from the internet again.

My skin The Incubus seems to have disappeared from the internet again. It’s seen a lot of play locally and almost three years of testing and revision. It’s not for everyone, but some will dig it. In spite of the name, The Incubus can be male, female, or non-binary.

Here’s the final version of The Incubus. Enjoy!

  1. While I’ve already done the critique-revise-repeat cycle many times on this, I’m still interested to hear feedback from people who try it in play or have questions about how it works. The skin is primarily inspired by the show Lost Girl.

I’ll pre-empt the murder-hobo critique by stating that if your players tend to be outright murderers of NPCs and each other, no amount of playbook safety nets will help with that. 😛

  2. Joseph Slade  We had a real boom of Monsterhearts games through Infrno.net. There was a lull as we got into other games for a change of pace. Masks is very fun. But some of us have been missing MH and so there’s a few games going again now.

Monsterhearts is magic. 🙂 Already in love with this new campaign.

We use Skype and Roll20.net, which now has Monsterhearts character sheets built in. I anticipate another boom when Jackson Tegu releases the settings for Second Skins.

  3. I can’t recall the actual term. They are settings with roleplaying question prompts attached to them, like a resort town with descriptions of some of the buildings. I’ve been needling him for a test version. 🙂

  4. Gregor Schröder It’s seen tons of play in one shots and campaigns and multiple rounds of revisions. As with any playbook, so much depends on your MC and the other books in play. In some campaigns, it’s not that easy to arrange a trist. Also, the Incubus’ feeding move only requires a kiss, albeit a good one. 😉

On the meta side there’s 1. Incubi are demons of lust, so…. sex. 2. It’s meant as a metaphor real people who use sex as a weapon, or are themselves ruled by it. Often victims of abuse become very promiscuous or very chaste. The Incubus is the former.

YMMV. Every MC I play with allows a different set of skins, sometimes dropping even some of the core skins they dislike or don’t wish to deal with, like the Chosen. Between Second Skins and Skins for the Skinless, there are a ton of additional playbooks available for you to pick and choose for your games.

  5. Well, I’m pretty biased, but I enjoy playing it. The hidden surprise with this skin is the Rock Band advance. 🙂 My longest running Incubus was a rocker gal who was actually an ancient demon trying to resurrect her master through any means necessary. I haven’t really seen any more sex than usual in those games, but we run on the Hot side usually anyway.
