Highlighting Hx, does anyone else do it?
To me, it makes sense, highlighting stats is saying “I want to see you do these things”. so highlighting hard is saying “I want to see you be violent” and highlighting sharp is saying “I want to see you be observant and calculating”, so it makes sense to be able to highlight Hx, because thats saying “I want to see you be a team player/ help others”
And, personally, i prefer highlighting overall Hx, as opposed to their Hx with one person, just because the latter feels kinds restrictive.

Ooh, I hadn’t thought of Hx as being subject to highlighting. I’ll have to remember that one !
It is totally legit, and I love doing it. If I recall correctly, 2nd of AW makes this more clear by actually giving Hx its own hilight bubble.
I’ve done it in the past. It worked well.
It was only after seeing the bubble on AW:FE that struck me.
Also remember that you help or interfere with Hx, so what you’re actually saying is “I want you to mess with the other player characters”.
Technically it could go either way. Knowing player characters though…
(“Mess” like “get involved with”, not like “screw with”).
Especially if you use the advanced Fckery rules for using Hx with NPCs or to set up flashbacks or for acquisition of ‘stuff’, then highlighting Hx sets up a whole new dynamic for play. Its ace! Works really well if you are pushing for more unstable Triangles too – the PC gets rewarded for getting their face up into everyone else’s grills and potentially pushing for sex moves too.
