  1. I was just about to post this! Like… I’m sure this is part of the script or meta-script, but they must be channeling legit disdain, real “I don’t want to talk to you at a party” disdain.

Or fuck, it might be real, and it makes me uncomfortable.

    WRESTLING

  2. I also love this slice of “when a good guy becomes a smarmy paragon who deserves to be taken down a peg” and also “when a bad guy is so driven to be the paragon that they don’t seem that bad”, which are great tropes always

  3. I feel it’s an amazing mix. And I definitely feel like Miz is channeling frustration of hearing similar things from the world over about his style of Wrestling), and it all came out in an amazing promo.

Between this and Cesaro’s recent on camera frustrations, there’s been a slew of good real rolls lately. But this. This was epic.

  4. Miz is probably the best heel in the company right now. But that seemed to come from a very personal place for him, and I can agree with it. There’s a reason that guys like Miz, Rock, and many others who wrestle a distinct older school (lower impact and lower overall risk) style tend to have more staying power and get injured less often. I consider the current indie mode of wrestling a guilty pleasure…because the toll it takes on the newer generation of wrestlers is serious, and there have been and will be serious long-term consequences, in both the careers of the performers and the health of the industry as a whole.

  5. Now why can’t we get stuff like that during SmackDown and RAW?  If he said that in front of 10k paying fans, he’d need a police escort to get out alive.  That’s heat.

  6. Been saying it for years the WWE is lucky to have the Miz….the dude is whatever they need him to be whenever they need him to be it. Jobber. Check. Champion. Check. Need him to be your proxy for a feud he’s not even technically a part of? Check. From comedy segments to stuff like this….he’s a true commodity and one of the only legit old school heels left in the business.
