Trigger move for the Dying

Trigger move for the Dying

I believe this is the latest text. A few things confuse me:

1) When rolled, does the player always take Harm, or is that on a 10+?

2) “The MC chooses 2 from the 7-9 list below.” The second sentence in this move also says on a 10+ the MC chooses 1…” Which is it? 1 or 2?

3) No mention is made of marking a spike, but I assume you do.

  1. Weird, when I copied over from the book it must have changed the formatting. I’ll change it, the move did not change from first printing, use that sheet instead for now. Spike wise, unless a move says “roll 2d6 without adding a state”, you always add one, yep!

  2. After a gift from your disease manifests

itself, roll+Symptoms. On a 10+, the MC chooses 1 and your Symptom(s) manifest themselves as well.

„„ The pain hits, take 1 Harm.

„„ Choose 2 from the 7–9 list below.

On a 7–9, the MC may choose 1:

„„ Everything fades to black as you pass out.

„„ You lose control over ________.

„„ One of your Symptoms manifests itself in a big

    way.

„„ You lose track of ________.

So you can either have the pain hit, or choose 2 from the list below. If it’s a 7-9 only choose two from the list below, miss is good.

  3. Drivethru just resolved an issue, the file was not updated until now. That’s why it was showing the 2P files. Try again and you should have The Dying proper.

  4. Dang. Do you put version numbers in the file properties or something? Then you could say what the version is and we would know if we had the right one. Filenames aren’t the best place for versions on DTRPG.
