First session advice, anyone?

First session advice, anyone? I know the book kinda covers this, but I’m feeling like I don’t have a grasp on how to easily come up with a hazard.

I’ve got three characters – a nature adept, a seer, and an academic. I’ve got a few things marked on the map, and some Fellowship stuff filled out on character sheets.

How do I get from this to creating and introducing a hazard without being all “So Elder Dragon Grendrik the Great needs you to…”?

  1. I generally take the stuff from PC Creation and build on it. After a session or two of play, with the players contributing and reacting, this tends to solidify into a good 6-8 sessions of play.

Choose one of the threat types from the lists of you need inspiration in binding the disparate elements together.

  2. What playbooks they chose, their history with each other, their backgrounds, the moves they selected etc. Remember to ask questions during this time to add further details if needed.
