I made it distinct to the decker by making it kinda hyper-focused and a glass cannon. Special mention to the What if this ICE wants to be free? move that allows her to speak to ICE as if it were people, and even infuse some self-awereness in it!. (dont tell anyone I took inspiration from Kit of the netrunner cardgame xD )

I think it has too many moves though, and would like to cut out 2 or 3 to make it cleaner. Suggestions appreciated!

  1. Hmmm looking again I think there’s a flaw in it – it doesn’t have any of the Hacker routine suppressing moves as Console Cowboy or Ice Breaker. My worry is not even ICE per se (as the “ICE wants to be free” move is fairly strong in dealing with them), but the acumulation of Alerts. So I thought about some move similar to Cowboy Console, but only to prevent alerts. The overall strategy of the playbook would be to trigger ICE as much as possible and just “fast talk” them, while avoiding the real problem, the Alerts. EDIT: updated the original file with these changes. Now it looks more functional.

  2. The 7-9 result of Deep Resonance seems weak… such a result should be a qualified success in some way, but this just gives “vague answers” for the player to make sense of, and if that wasn’t enough, hits them with a penalty to their next move. “Vague answers” is what I’d give a player on 6-, never mind the penalty…

  3. Matt Donle I had not thought about it! Maybe it isn’t a bad idea. I’m about to post a revised hack and then let everyone run wild with it. I’m glad you like it!

  4. Matthew Terry yea, i love the Sprawl, but it would be great if there were another area I could go to just focused on the Shadowrun hack specifically, so I didn’t have to scan all posts if I were just looking for info or whatever on that.
