  1. Do what the narrative demands.

    If everyone is having fun and it makes sense for the story for them to skirt death, then they do.

    If it makes sense for the story that this time they don’t, then they don’t.

  2. Think about all the supernatural tv shows out there, and how often the main characters almost die. As long as it’s fun and dramatic, you are playing the right way.

  5. As long as the player of the character wants to and pays the price, that character can skirt death.

    At best, you could make a case that it’s not allowed if they’re already their darkest self and have no strings on anyone…

    But the fun of MonsterHearts is rarely found in main characters dying.
