I decided to start working again on a hack I lost all my files for a little while ago, Land of the God-Kings, a game about playing a powerhouses in a high-fantasy setting.
Does anyone have any tips or ideas they’d like to share concerning playbooks, moves, and what else should be in the book besides rules? Thanks!
What kind of powerhouses? Are we looking at more Elric? Exalted? Elminster? All of the above?
Your game text should include:
-how to run the game, including the responsibilities of the GM and the responsibilities of the player(s)
-what the characters do and what the players do
-everything you need to play the game so your readers don’t have to rely on the internet/printers being available once they have a the text (except pencils and dice, natch.)
That middle one is where a looooooot of game design falls down.
Michael Kailus Going by the classic LotR method, think Sauron or Smaug. For something a little closer to my heart, Anomander Rake from the Malazan Book of the Fallen was a big inspiration.
