Using the quick character names as reference, has anyone made any name lists for PCs? It seems strange not to have a short list for each playbook.

Here are the quick character names:

Ada, Anders, Angel, Brigit, Buffalo, Cant, Cato, Cloud, Elijah, Erwin, Eva, Firestone, Flame, Gil, Hive, Isis, It, Leo, Lin, Longshot, Louis, Lux, Makoto, Masud, Max, Moon, Nemo, Nora, Rebar, Silver, Sky, Smoke, Tadpole, Taliha, Wither, Xu.

  1. I didn’t put name lists on the character playbooks because of how strongly people’s Family playbooks have guided their character naming conventions, but the quick character name list is there to serve as a generic source for names if needed. Possibly it would have been good to give families character name lists? Hmm…

  2. In the few games we played, the variety of concepts was such that a single list of name wouldn’t work. Legacy differs here from a lot of other PbtA RPGs. Generally, players chose their naming conventions as a part of their personality.

  3. I’ve run/played a few AW campaigns and several one shots. Sometimes the name lists work & are used, sometimes not. It’s nice to have them.

Maybe they shouldn’t be on the sheets for Legacy but it might make a fun fan project.

My Legacy campaign begins next Sunday. It’s looking like Lawgivers, Enclave, Survivors & Servants. I’ll try to put names together for at least those families & share what I come up with. 40 names? 48?
