I’m meandering with the idea of making a small Eclipse Phase hack for UW.

I know there’s this, but this is more of a pbta adaptation than a UW hack.

I still want to use UW’s ruleset and probably only creating 1-2 setting specific moves and new assets and upgrades.

I’m now brainstorming on how to handle Morphs and Egos, trying to keep RAW as much as possible. So far, I think the best way to handle this is to make Morphs (basically bodies that you can upload your mind into, for those unfamiliar with Eclipse Phase (or Altered Carbon, which the game is a lot inspired on)) as Assets.

Thing is, UW has a DIY approach to equipment while the EP settings suggest that there are some “predetermined models” of Morphs (but new ones and alternate versions do exist).

Would you only create new Upgrades and let character build their own Morphs or would you provide with a “shopping list” of known Morphs (such as Splicer, Synth, Sylph, Fury, etc)?

  1. Hmm I bought FBH expressedely to see how it handled cybermods and such to expand on my brainstorming on how I’d handle an EP hack but except from cybermods and new upgrades for assets, I didn’t find much stuff to help me with Morphs/Ego.

Which part are you talking about?

  2. I meant FBH handles all the other transhumanist bits ASIDE from morph/ego, but I think that’s pretty easy to add: a morph is just equipment with stats.

  3. Yeah thx for the link! I had already consulted the site. It’s great for inspiration but like I said I want more a direct hack to Uncharted world than a pbta inspired system. The pbta take on the site is a bit too complex to my liking. I want to keep everything from UW and only hack it by adding stuff whether to change it.

  4. Each Morph comes pre-bundled with some upgrades (but they still count as a Class 0 asset)

    Free upgrades for BioMorphs:

    Basic biomods

    Mesh Inserts

    Cortical Stack

    Free upgrades for Pods:

    Basic biomods

    Mesh Inserts

    Cortical Stack

    Cyberbrain

    Puppet sock

    Stigmatized

    Free upgrades for Synthmorphs:

    Mesh Inserts

    Cortical Stack

    Cyberbrain

    Stigmatized

    Connector

    Adaptation (no air)

    Free upgrades for Infomorphs:

    Virtual

  5. I don’t like “Adaptation (no air)”

I want it to be broader and with 1 word if possible?

It stands for “well you’re synthetic, you don’t need to eat, sleep or breath”

Is Adaptation (synthetic) too vague to you?

  6. Resleeving

When you resleeve your Ego into a physical Morph, roll +Mettle.

    * On a 10+, you integrate with the new sleeve without any side effect.

    * On a 7-9+, you suffer disorientation and feel a lost of continuity. Take a minor debility.

    * On a 6-, you suffer severe alienation and lost of continuity. Take a major debility.
