Regarding those gimmicks that don’t have Finishing Moves (the Manager and the Boss), is Creative just unable to book them in matches, or can they never be booked to win, or what?

The only thing I can find in the book is that when Creative calls for the end of the match the wrestler booked to win should roll their Finishing Move (or equivalent) but as far as I can see it makes zero sense for either of the Manager nor Boss’ equivalents to be rolled in that situation.

  1. The rules say that when the match comes to an end the wrestler booked to win rolls their Finishing Move. Are you saying that the Manager and the Boss just win without rolling like NPWs?

  2. Yeah, that may be an unstated assumption from when the game was written, but the rules are always applied in service to the fictional stuff that’s happening. If the Manager is in a match and you book them to win, that’s how your story is going, they just don’t have the ability to get more out of it like a regular in-ring competitor. They’d still get whatever the fictional stakes of the match are (like if it’s for their Client to get a shot at something or for a sack of money or something).

Also, the Boss didn’t exist until years after the game was written, so the Manager was the only exception to every Gimmick having a Finishing Move, and it seemed obvious to me that the point of them having a Move about their client was that they aren’t, y’know, gonna be wrestling very much.
