The next version of my Ars Magica hack (now called Wizard World) is ready for viewing. This is a “refined beta” version, in that it hasn’t seen any formal editing, but I’ve been playtesting a fair bit and I spent a bunch of time polishing it while I was on vacation.
Once again, I’ve presented it in landscape layout for better on-screen viewing. That’s just one of the thousand things I’d love to hear your feedback on. 🙂

This looks pretty great
Thanks Guy Sodin. It’s a labour of love. I hope lots of people get to enjoy it!
Very cool. Can’t wait to dig into it.
Thanks for posting, I will review!
Hey, Jared Hunt , what sort/level of feedback are you looking for? I can probably provide some based on the docs.
I’m also aiming to try playing this but probably not for 2-3 months.
Any feedback is welcome! My primary concern is clarity – have I communicated the core concepts effectively enough for people to run a game smoothly?
With that I mind I’d be happy to hear questions about any of the rules and/or suggestions on ways to get my points across better.
I’m also open to feedback on how this all fits in the context of the PbtA body of work as a whole. There are definitely some different approaches to certain game “problems” and I realize I took a somewhat more mechanical route than some hacks.
Excellent! I will say I liked most of what I saw (especially as someone coming from a background where I’m not very familiar with Ars Magica), and it looks like it could be a lot of fun. 🙂
Wizard World always reminds me of that company that runs the regional Comic Cons…
Yeah, it’s also the name of a fun park in Toronto. Hopefully it’s still more clear than the previous name (ArM World).
Awesome. Just found this. Can’t wait to check it out. I run and play a lot of move games. Love the idea of this.
I have not read it, but have forwarded it on to interesting parties. I am playing in an Ars Magica campaign, now, but I am a new player and would entertain any other system with greater simplicity.
Yeah, Steve Moore, the reason I started this hack was out of love for Ars Magica tempered by the fact that my players understandably couldn’t handle the homework involved.
The hack has definitely taken a life of its own, but I feel like I’m staying true to the spirit of Mythic Europe even as the game mechanics grow further apart.
