I am so sad I did not participate in this game Kickstarter. Apart from the Modiphius web page, if this game hits the stores of the U.S. I would love to buy a physical copy of the core book, as well as the expansions (I hate PDFs). If any of you know if this will happen, or when/where, that would be awesome.

I’m starting a campaign of Generation Ship. My group has just done session zero, chosen their families and characters, and established some facts about the ship and the Awakening. But before I do the first real session next week, I’m wondering: how many Factions should I establish for them to bounce off? There are three player Families – is two Factions too many, or should I think about using all the unused playbooks?

I am not entirely understanding how the Guardian tree functions within Primal Pathways.

I am not entirely understanding how the Guardian tree functions within Primal Pathways. The differences to the core game are a bit too much for me to grasp my head around without a outlined instructions or examples.

Here is my understanding of the process, correct me if I am wrong anywhere.

I mark off the first box on the Guardian Tree to pick 2 traits for my People.

I pick one stats block from the list.

I choose 1 Biome (I’m guessing my entire Homeland is this)

I choose 1 Threat (located within my Homeland)

I choose 1 Manifestation Of The Guardian (also located within my Homeland)

I ask the other players my questions concerning history between us

I pick one Surplus and the rest Needs from the three mentioned resources.

I choose 1 Pathway (which will be my only Pathway through the campaign I can evolve along)

I begin with the Favored Of The Move.

My People will be complete with that.

Further clarification on Evolution Tiers:

2nd Evolution tier to be marked off would be one of the coloured blocks appropriate to chosen Pathway. Everything within that coloured block is obtained as directed. Eg. The Hunter with Blood Pathway gets Hunting Camps, all the Needs listed, the move and two choices from the 4 listed.

Can my People gain access to an Evolution Tier not of my Pathway?

eg. Blood Pathway and selecting Caste System for the 5th Evolution tier.

When people are picking Landmarks, is there any real guidance on whether those Landmarks should be inside or outside of the “homeland” area? It’s assumed that anything inside the Homeland area is known/explored, right?

I was looking for an online character sheet for 4 players, and found an awesome one here that had a lot of drop-downs that filled in a ton of stuff for you, but the fourth player was broken and I’m nowhere near as good at Google Sheets to fix it.

In the end I decided to create a “dumbed-down” version of those sheets – it doesn’t magically fill anything in for you, so you’ll have to type more, but it should be easier for me to maintain. Let me know what you think!

Another question that just came up – one of the players is going to play The Servants of the One True Faith. They are looking at the move “A Voice in the Wilderness” – but I’m having a hard time figuring out what labeling someone as “Corrupt” really means, it doesn’t seem to have any benefit/detriment?

Hey everyone, just found the game a little while back and my friends and I love what we’ve read. We’re planning to start a game soon, but I have a few questions I hope you can help with/offer advice on.

1. How have you made Kaiju Threat Alert work? Does the player just decide they want to scout for signs of a behemoth attack, and then they just make up a prophecy? Does the GM need to follow that, or are they just encouraged to work with the player?

2. How have you made the whole buying & selling thing of the Merchants work? Since there’s no real concept of money that I can tell, I’m not certain what benefit special abilities like Avaricious Appraisal gives? Honestly there are a few moves that the Merchants have that seem a little out of place without some form of economy built up around them.

Thanks for all your help! Can’t wait to play!

So I might be sidelining with some Rhapsody of Blood soon. I’m pretty tickled by it, but there’s some elements that I’m not sure I completely understand, and I’d like some help putting it all together. 🙂

1) I’m a little uncertain as it seems like there’s wording that implies both, but is the intent that usually, the explorers are traveling together? That’s what I’d assume given, for example, the shared Travelling the Labyrinth pool, but I’m not quite sure how to reconcile this with every bloodline having their own Breach, for example.

2) Page 16 indicates that the castle rewards the breaking of a covenant more the stronger the bond, but it seems like the reward is always a flat 1 contamination for 1 covenant. Is this correct?

3) A couple of places, such as the Reinforcements bloodline move, make reference to steps of the regent’s plans manifesting on certain clock ticks. I was unable to find anything explicitly explaining this; any thoughts as to what the intent here is?

4) Removed; was a question about the length of the regent’s clock, and I was getting confused by the intended length. The 12-point aesthetic had me overlooking the fact that it was an obvious 6-point clock. 🙂

5) All of the example castles seem to contain five wards, one of which being the regent’s. Is it generally expected that’s always to be the case? Are the nature and title of the wards known in advance to players?
