Tomorrow night I finally get to try out MASKS in a one-shot being run by the incomparable Sean Horwich! I’ve finally settled on the Protege, goes by the name of Celados (aka Carmen).

Her father (and mentor) is a famed armored super hero of the previous generation and she’s inherited his technical know-how and crime fighting tendencies.

Gonna be FUN!!!

Am looking to play a game of masks sometime soon, however I have not played it at all yet, so I would appreciate if someone would run it. Would anyone want to run a game for me and whoever else we can get together?

With the Apocalypse Sonata upcoming, I think Legionnaires (1994) would make great inspiration with its cosmic setting for a group of teenage superheroes.

How are people keeping track of Influence?  It feels like it should be somewhere on the Playbooks, since you’ll have varying Influence over the other players and it can change a fair amount through play.

I can only see the bit for starting Influence and for tracking NPCs losing their Influence.

Taking a crack at a custom move for #MasksRPG (although this particular mission has already been accomplished; good hustle on the #halcyonjailbreak everyone!).

When you dramatically proclaim “This must be the work of _____!”, you’re right, it totally is. If you make your declaration while…

…your powers flare dramatically, roll +Freak.

…smashing your fist into a nearby inanimate object, roll +Danger.

…cradling a wounded civilian, roll +Savior.

…pointing accusingly in an appropriate direction, roll +Superior.

…displaying open signs of fear or concern, roll +Mundane.

On a hit, you are not caught off-guard when the force behind it all is inevitably brought to bear against you. On a 10+, the GM will also ask you a question about what you’ve figured out; whatever you answer, that is the truth of the matter.
